Terms of Service

Nisatsu ("we") provides a language-learning reader that generates personalized stories built from vocabulary you track. These Terms govern your use of nisatsu.app and the Nisatsu mobile app (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Nisatsu (16 in the EU where required by local law). If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

You are responsible for activity that happens under your account and for keeping the device you sign in on secure. If you suspect unauthorized access, email contact@nisatsu.com and delete your session from Account settings.

Nisatsu Pro is offered as a monthly or annual subscription processed by Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel any time from Account → Manage subscription; cancellations take effect at the end of the current period and you retain access until then. Prices may change; we will notify active subscribers before any price change applies to them.

Refund requests can be directed to contact@nisatsu.com. Where local law provides a statutory withdrawal right (for example, EU consumer law's 14-day right), you may exercise it by contacting us within the applicable window.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to generate or share content that is illegal, infringing, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit involving minors, or otherwise harmful.
• Attempt to bypass the daily generation quota, rate limits, or entitlement gating.
• Automate access to the Service beyond normal personal use, or scrape bulk data.
• Reverse-engineer, probe, or disrupt the Service or its third-party integrations.
• Submit content that contains another person's personal data you do not have the right to share.

Content you submit (topics, profile fields, notes) remains yours. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display it solely to operate the Service for you and, where you choose to share a story to the Community library, to other learners.

Stories are generated by a third-party AI model at your request. AI output can be inaccurate or culturally imperfect — treat it as a study aid, not an authoritative source. You are responsible for what you do with it.

By default, stories you generate are private. You can opt in to share a story to the Community library; when you do, other learners can see its title and contents. You can flip a shared story back to private any time.

The Service, including its code, branding, and UI, is our property or licensed to us. These Terms do not transfer any IP rights beyond what is needed to use the Service.

You can delete your account any time from Account → Privacy → Delete my account. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms, pose safety risks, or have been inactive for an extended period. Deletion removes your learning data as described in the Privacy Policy.

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 50. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in the app and effective after a notice period. Your continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
